About a year ago, I was watching a video on DeutscheStartups.de. There was an interesting interview about a young winery owner Lukas. I knew straight away from Lukas’ spirit that we should work together and reached out to him. This was the beginning of our friendship and wine partnership. Together we have created the exclusive Club Lavender wines "Pink Summer" and "Rosé My Way".
Lukas together with his father Frank run their own winery in Franconia (part of Bavaria, in Germany). Their vineyard is located in the top area known as "Bullenheimer Paradise"! Their portfolio includes sensational wines such as Riesling, Pinot Noir, Scheurebe and a Silvaner aged in Barrique. In addition to these classics, Lukas is also a master of Rosé!
After many meetings and discussions, I drove down to visit Lukas' winery in Franconia. Bullenheim is quite secluded in the countryside so you do not have cell phone coverage with some providers. That made the navigation to the winery a bit more difficult, but I found it anyway.
The vines are located on a sun-drenched southern slope (see photos below). The perfect base for great Rosés! You can taste the summer and feel the sun. The winery, the cellar and the whole team are super professional, experienced and motivated. We were excited to work together on two unique Rosés.
The delicious results are aptly named "Pink Summer" and "Rosé My Way".
Pink Summer is vegan and unfiltered which gives it a very soft and round taste. Slightly fruity it is a blast on ice and suitable for delicious BBQs and every party! This wine is a rarity that can only be found in Franconia: a Rotling. This means that a Cuvée of red and white grapes are pressed together. Normally Rosé wines are only made of red grapes
The second wine "Rosé My Way" is pressed from the varietal Blauer Portugieser. Aromas of peach and apricot dominate here, making this dry rosé the perfect aperitif as well as a great companion for food.
We invite you to discover the Club Lavender Rosés! Please share in our passion for Rosé!
Cheers,
Julian
