Leone De Castris - Five Roses Rosato
Leone de Castris is one of the most historic wineries in Apulia and made Italian wine history in 1943 by bottling the country’s very first Rosé wine – the now iconic Five Roses. The name comes from a family line in which five sons were born over several generations – a symbol of legacy, strength, and passion.
The Five Roses Rosato IGT Salento is made from Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera. In the glass, it shows a vibrant cherry-pink color with aromas of ripe wild berries, red cherries, a little cassis and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is dry, fruity, and refreshingly crisp.
Perfect Pairings: Think sun-drenched terraces and simple pleasures: grilled prawns with lemon, burrata with tomato and basil, or a picnic with focaccia, olives, and prosciutto. It’s also your go-to glass for spontaneous aperitivos and long summer lunches.
A true classic of Italian Rosé – with origin, character, and cult status.
