On our last visit to the Provence we made a stop at one of the most impressive wineries in the area – UP.
Nestled between the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the majestic nature reserve of Plaine des Maures, a bold and modern winery has emerged. Overlooking the Mont Notre-Dame des Anges and built on the foundations of an impressive vineyard in La Garde-Freinet, UP is 48 hectares of vineyards & an ultra-modern boutique hotel & wine cellar.
This winery is a unique bridge between the classic Rosé world and the next generation. The wine maker responsible for UP, Alexis Cornu is also responsible for the Rosés from the famous Provence winery Château De Berne.
You can stay at the brand new UP luxury boutique hotel and soak in pure nature combined with elegant chic style. They also have DJs playing pool side and concerts outdoors in the courtyard of the winery. The philosophies of Ultimate Provence and Club Lavender match perfectly, hence we knew immediately that we have to add this Rosé in our portfolio!
Syrah acts as the backbone of this Rosé blend. You can smell and taste fruity lemon flavors and floral notes. On the palate, the intense exotic fruit is supported by a mineral freshness, accentuated by spicy hints of white pepper. The white pepper note is typical for the Syrah grape in Rosés. This is Rosé Excellence!
